A Better Way for Families: Nonverbal Autism Homeschool
Jun 14, 2026
Most special needs homeschooling parents did not plan to become their child's teacher. They just wanted their student to learn real academics in a safe, respectful environment. For many families, that search led them to Autism Oasis.
What they found was not just a curriculum, but a brighter future.
A Core Curriculum Built for Your Student
Nonverbal Autism Homeschool is designed for students to struggle to speak conversationally, write or sit at a desk to learn. It is a core curriculum, which means it includes all the core subjects you’re required to teach your student as a homeschooling parent: Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and Art.
This is a diploma track program. Your student will learn the same academic lessons taught in mainstream classrooms, with a high school diploma as the end goal. Lessons are designed to accommodate students’ motor and sensory needs, allowing them to show academic mastery without speaking, writing or sitting at a desk. Instead, students are taught to gesture at the correct multiple choice answer and show knowledge using other methods of expressive communication like AAC, letterboards, sorting and use of manipulatives.
Speaking of AAC, a two-year course is also available that teaches parents how to format, navigate, customize, and model Proloquo2Go and compatible communication apps. This course is available as a stand alone program or as an add-on to our full Nonverbal Autism Homeschool program. The AAC program teaches some of the same lessons as the reading program, and makes an excellent academic support.
Nonverbal Autism Homeschool is not a subscription. Once you purchase a package, access never expires. That allows your student to work at their own pace without any pressure.
It’s Built for You, Too!
One of the most powerful things about this program is that it was built with parents in mind. As co-creator Ken Sims, M.A. Special Education, puts it: "An average parent, who will dedicate a couple of hours per day to their student, can achieve so much more than I can all day long in a group classroom."
Your purchase includes more than just curriculum. It delivers a full homeschool support system:
- Each academic grade is broken down into semesters (½ grade) and then down into weekly bundles, so you’ll never feel overwhelmed.
- Lesson plans organized on spreadsheets, with views from the entire semester down to each day, saving you hours of prep time.
- Short instructional videos for parents so you feel confident working with your student using the materials provided.
- Live weekly group Zoom sessions with Heather and Mr. Sims for ongoing support.
- Email assistance whenever you need guidance.
You know your child better than anyone. Nonverbal Autism Homeschool gives you the structure, the materials, and the confidence to put that knowledge to work.
Not Sure Yet? Start Small
If you are curious but not ready to commit to the full program, our Monthly Mini-Packets are a great place to begin. It is a low-stakes, download-and-go way to try the curriculum and see how your student responds.
Families also dip their toe into our program by first purchasing our Summer School program. For just $99 you’ll receive four weeks of curriculum that includes instructional videos like in the full program, as well as access to our group Zoom lessons.

What Families Are Saying
The victories our community shares remind us why this work matters.
Aaron spent five years in the public school system without access to foundational learning. Since enrolling, he is spelling words, creating sets, mastering addition facts and writing letters independently. His mom Kourtney calls the transformation "nothing short of amazing."
Jubilee has been using Proloquo2Go to type her spelling words for over a year. She can now type a full list independently, and when given a phonetic sound prompt, she types the word without even looking. Her dad Chris shared that milestone with so much pride.
Elliott struggled with math motivation, but a number train puzzle often recommended to parents during our group Zoom sessions helped him count to 100 and prove his mastery. His mom Taran wrote that she is grateful for a curriculum that allows Elliott to demonstrate his intelligence.
You Are Not in This Alone
One of the things that sets Autism Oasis apart is the community that comes with it. Every week, Heather and Mr. Sims, our experienced special education teacher, host a live Q&A session via Zoom where members can drop in, ask questions, share a victory, vent a frustration, or simply spend time with people who genuinely understand what this journey looks like.
There is something powerful about being in a room, even a virtual one, with other parents who are doing the same thing you are doing. We don’t require participation in these meetings - most parents don’t even turn on their cameras. It’s a touch of community with no expectations, no need to explain or justify anything. (I’m not sure what you were trying to say here but I really liked where I thought it was going. Please edit if I got it wrong)
If you cannot join live, we encourage you to email your questions ahead of time and Heather will address them during the session. Every session is recorded with a replay link for families in the program so you can watch on your own time.
